Heard that the Jamaican Delegation to the Caricom Heads meeting in Trinidad were served liberal servings of humble pie, and ate lots of crow, as Baroness Patricia Scotland, whom they tried to depose, and who retained her position as Commonwealth Secretary General with the help of The Prime Minister Sir John Rowley, of the Bahamas, was the toast of the meet. She and the PM of Barbados and the Caribbean, PM Mia Amor Mottley. Story is Jamaica’s diminished standing on the world stage, and demotion form the special Friendship it once enjoyed with the US Government was the talk of the Caucus, as US Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken, was not in the mood to suffer Corrupt leaders and their defenders, so it was Summer, but very frosty, as a Diplomatic chill cutting through the region was felt by all in attendance. Some say it was so clear that Jamaica was not on anyone’s shortlist for bilaterals’ it was embarrassing.
Some are questioning why the former Minister was charged with a Traffic offense when there are at least 3 of his colleagues in the Parliament, who were accused of vehicular manslaughter, who never faced charges and or prosecution..And friends are saying , He was assigned a Driver, but because that driver refused to Spy on him and report on his extramarital affairs, as was requested by the wife, she had the driver reassigned…
Some in Corporate Jamaica say the CEO is running the Brand/Company, and its Subsidiaries, into the ground, but the Directors and Chairman, say otherwise. And so the Company continues to lose Market share, many wonder how long before its replaced as a Market leader…
Then the buzz is the Priest, who went into hiding after he was accused of having ‘sexual relations’ (Molesting) a 12-year girl, still has the support of his congregation, despite being on the Police’s wanted for questioning list. There is also concerns being raised by what they say is glaring instances of Nepotism as Friends of those in high-places ended up being the recipients of some pretty-hefty GoJ contracts, without bothering with the Tendering Process…
